In honor for the month of October, Off The Shelf Games will be hosting various Horror themed RPG’s. This will be one of them….

Ten days ago, the sky betrayed you. The world went dark. The sun vanished.

You were alone.

The fall into chaos was sudden and predictable. The world was filled with riots and fear. Radios promised that the sun was not gone. It was out there, beyond that black sky.

Order returned.

Five days ago, They came.

Now the radios promise rescue that never comes. Now the lights flicker low and the dark is where They hunt. Now you hear the screams. Now They’re coming for you.

Keep moving. Don’t lose hope. And stay in the light.

Ten Candles is a tragic horror time-based storytelling game. Through cooperative storytelling, it is up to you and your friends to tell this dark tale. The story of a sunless apocalypse, and the final hours of those who fall victim to it. Through this game, you will tell the terrible and harrowing story of a group of individuals fighting for survival in a darkened world, fleeing shadowed adversaries, and in the end succumbing to them. You will share a story of these victims, and explore together their final hours.

This is no survival horror game, where the question is “will you die?” It’s not about whether the characters fall to the darkness or emerge as survivors. There are no survivors. Not here. Instead, it provides the stage upon which you will act out the final moments in the lives of a group of people destined to die; to see them pushed to the very brink of terror, madness, and sorrow. It is a game of loss, yes, but it is also a game of hope. That hope will live on, even in the end. But hope can be lost when those who guard it are pushed to that edge. It is in those moments that the darkness around becomes the darkness within, and that is when They have truly won.

This is part of our October Horror Game Event, a month-long event where every Thursday night, starting at 6:30 PM, a new game will be played. Other games include Zombie World, Werewolf, and Dread, check our website to see more!

This event is at Off The Shelf Games and there is a $5.00 entrance fee for non-members to the store.
