The WSBG Regional Tournament will be held at Off The Shelf Games Thursday April 25 – Sunday April 28, 2024. The Las Vegas World Series of Board Gaming will be held at the Horseshoe Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas Sunday September 22 – Thursday September 26, 2024.

How does it work?

Off The Shelf Games will be using the same rules as the official World Series of Board Gaming tournaments. Players will be allowed to play in up to 4 of 16 Ring Games. The winners of these Ring games will move on to a semi-final.

The 16 semi-finalists will then compete in 1 of 4 games, for a shot at becoming a finalist. Finalists will then compete for the grand prize, consisting of hotel stay, and entrance into the World Series of Board Gaming. Semi-finalists and Finalists will not play the same game they won the ring event for. Both Semi-Finals and Finals will be hosted on Sunday April 28th.

How many games can I play?

Players will be able to play in 1 Ring game per grouping. There will be 4 groupings over the course of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Choose to play in 1, 2, 3, or 4 games. Early Bird Pricing is $30 per game, or all four games at a discounted rate of $100, and will be available until February 29, 2024. Starting March 1, regular pricing will be $40 per game, or all four games at a discounted rate of $140. Purchase your OTSG Regional Tournament Tickets either online or in store.

Acquire

In Acquire, each player strategically invests in businesses, trying to retain a majority of stock. As the businesses grow with tile placements, they also start merging, giving the majority stockholders of the acquired business sizable bonuses, which can then be used to reinvest into other chains. All of the investors in the acquired company can then cash in their stocks for current value or trade them 2-for-1 for shares of the newer, larger business. The game is a race to acquire the greatest wealth.

Ark Nova

In Ark Nova, you will plan and design a modern, scientifically managed zoo. With the ultimate goal of owning the most successful zoological establishment, you will build enclosures, accommodate animals, and support conservation projects all over the world. Specialists and unique buildings will help you in achieving this goal.

Azul

In the game Azul, players take turns drafting colored tiles from suppliers to their player board. Later in the round, players score points based on how they’ve placed their tiles to decorate the palace. Extra points are scored for specific patterns and completing sets; wasted supplies harm the player’s score. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Brass Birmingham

Brass: Birmingham is an economic strategy game sequel to Martin Wallace’ 2007 masterpiece, Brass. Brass: Birmingham tells the story of competing entrepreneurs in Birmingham during the industrial revolution, between the years of 1770-1870.
