If you have not played this game before, I highly recommend taking the time to watch a playthrough. Seeing the game played is one of the best ways to understand how the mechanics work together. Alternatively, you can watch the instructional video or read the rule book to learn how to play. I can answer questions but do not recommend waiting till after the event starts to learn how to play.
